“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
― Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
When you're a writer, everything can be a story. Ideas come in waves, in the middle of conversations, at the sight of a passing stranger, in the middle of a concert crowd experiencing melodic catharsis. I even got the idea for The Severing in the slow, torturous trek over parking lot speedbumps in the town's longest shopping center. This is my problem. I have so many untold stories inside me. And I am always coming up with more.
Hello, I'm Hilary, and I'm a writer.

Hailing from the Bay Area, California, I have lived in Louisiana for over ten years. I recently settled down with the most wonderful man a girl could hope for, my two canine hooligans, and a whole lot of determination.

It's time to read all those books I've been hoarding (so I can get more). It's time to write all those stories I've been starting (since 2004). It's time to reconnect and share my love of fiction with others. It's my goal to lift up those who have finished their stories with thoughtful reviews and discussions celebrating their work. I also want to eventually share some stories of my own. In the wise, hypnotic words of Imagine Dragons, "It's time to begin, isn't it?"
